About the Artist
Artist’s Biography
Annie Whitfield is a mixed media artist, based in the heart of beautiful Leicestershire. She has followed creative careers supporting others to be the best version of themselves but only fully realised her own passion as an artist later in life, graduating with the Milan Art Institute in 2026, now working as a fulltime artist. She is an inspiration to anyone whatever age to pursue their goals and passions.
Annie believes that ‘art should create emotions and resonate with your heart’. Annie is inspired by the beauty and uniqueness of the natural world using a story of colour to evoke emotions into her paintings, bold vibrant colours to display energy and life, to more subtle colours expressing melancholy themes of reflection or contemplation. Annie’s process is one of exploration, constantly evolving using a variety of mixed media; acrylic, spray paint, collage, inks and oil paint.
Having embarked on this new career Annie devotes her time to her at studio, set in her home overlooking beautiful woods of the Leicestershire countryside inhabited by a variety of wildlife and birds that give constant inspiration.
Annie’s two cats, Daisi and Elsa are constant companions in her studio often stealing the limelight on Instagram.
Annie’s future plans include attending more exhibitions to share her art giving the viewer an opportunity to meet with her and experience her art.
Artist’s Statement
My artwork is a balance of realism and abstract concepts and allows me a space to convey my own unique perspective, driven by curiosity, exploration and a commitment to storytelling though colour. Using layered compositions and bold palettes, my compositions navigate emotional and psychological landscapes to reflect themes of resilience, hope, courage and inner strength. I am constantly evolving and experimenting as an artist to express my outlook of the world. Colour is a guiding force, at times vibrant and bold at others subtle and reflective, mapping the shifting terrain of human experience.
